I2.2 DELIVER COMMUNICATIONS
Deliver communications to all levels of the organization to develop support and buy-in to the program, and reduce the resistance to change.
Management should deliver communications to the target audience; control and monitor any follow-up actions; and ensure that the communications effect the intended "behavior change" in the target audience.
Given the target audience or audiences, an appropriate communication channel must be selected. It should be clear in the communication whether it is informational in nature or actionable, requiring some form of follow-up on the part of the recipient. If it is actionable, the timetable for action should be clearly indicated.
Management should have recipients certify receipt of applicable messages. From time to time, it may be prudent to confirm that recipients truly understand the content of the messages.
All recurring communications/messages should be periodically reviewed and updated to ensure that they reflect any changes in program strategy. If changes are significant, management should consider triggering a more comprehensive planning process to appropriately respond to the change.
